What is Cinco de Mayo?
Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the Mexican people during La Batalla de Peubla. The battle took place on May 5th, 1862. It was a battle where 4,500 Mexican soldiers defeated the Mexican traitors & the French army. Although, they did not win the war- the courage and bravery of the people are celebrated on every Cinco de Mayo!
