Summer Solstice Fun!

Here in the Western Hemisphere, it’s Summer Solstice again! And from our side of the planet, it’s the longest day of the year when the earth is closest to the sun. For those on the other side of the world, it’s winter– the day when the earth is furthest away from the sun.

Since humanity began, people all over the globe have celebrated the coming of light. That is the inspiration for my upcoming album, “Hunk-Ta-Bunk-Ta JOY: Holiday Songs that Celebrate Light ”  I’m well into it– with 7 tracks completed, and I have been researching and working hard with incredible musicians and my buddy, engineer and extraordinaire, James Coffey.

In addition, I may decide to include a song I wrote several years ago, called “All the Way Around the World.” (Add link to song AND video), and change the lyric accordingly to reflect the sun and light. This year’s Children’s Music Network will host its 30th annual international conference in Hyannis, and I am thrilled that this song was chosen for the conference theme.

Wherever you are in the world, (western or eastern hemisphere) enjoy the hot summer sun or the darkness of winter. The world will turn around and around again and again, so that we may all continue to celebrate the coming of light.
